MINUTE entry before the Honorable John Robert Blakey: On Plaintiff initiated this lawsuit 9/19/25 by filing an infringement complaint naming 33 separate defendants, see 1. Once the case was assigned to this Court, Plaintiff filed an amended complaint naming just one defendant, see 11, 12. Plaintiff has now filed a supplemental response 18 indicating that it previously named all of these defendants in at least two prior cases, including one in which Plaintiff amended to name just one defendant after the presiding judge questioned the propriety of joinder. See Bryan Fletcher et al v. The Partnerships, No. 25-cv-11098, at 12 (N.D. Ill Sept. 16, 2025). Filing a claim, then dismissing it in anticipation of an adverse ruling on joinder and then filing a new suit that represents the same claim before a different judge constitutes forum shopping. See Julie Stiebritz v. The Partnerships and Unincorporated Associations Identified on Schedule A, No. 1:25-cv-03459, at 19 (N.D. Ill. Apr. 9, 2025). And repeatedly naming the same defendants in new cases until a case is assigned to a judge Plaintiff believes to be hospitable to joinder is an abuse of process, id. The Court orders Plaintiff to show cause in writing by 11/24/25 why this case should not be dismissed and or other sanctions imposed. Mailed notice.

MINUTE entry before the Honorable John Robert Blakey: Plaintiff initially filed a complaint seeking to sue 33 separate defendants in this single trademark and copyright infringement suit, see 1, 3. Once the case was reassigned to this Court, however, Plaintiff filed an amended complaint, which names just one defendant, and thus avoids any joinder issues. See 11, 12. But before Plaintiff may proceed, it must file a supplemental report confirming whether it has previously named any of the 76 defendants identified in this case in a prior case asserting infringement of the same intellectual property, and, if so, listing any such cases. See Julie Stiebritz v. The Partnerships and Unincorporated Associations Identified on Schedule A, No. 1:25-cv-03459, at 19 (N.D. Ill. Apr. 9, 2025) (dismissing the case because plaintiff previously named defendants in a prior case and dismissed them to avoid an unfavorable joinder ruling, which constitutes forum shopping). Plaintiff shall file its report by 11/10/25. Based upon Plaintiff's notice of withdrawal 13, the Clerk shall terminate docket entry 4 as a pending motion. Mailed notice.
