MINUTE entry before the Honorable Edmond E. Chang: (1.) On review of the motion 5 to seal, the motion is granted in part and denied in part. Schedule A may remain under seal given the goal of asset restraint. But the further step of sealing the copyright itself is denied. The motion does not sufficiently support that there is a danger arising from public filing given the extremely strong presumption of public access. Baxter Int'l v. Abbott Laboratories, 297 F.3d 544, 546-47 (7th Cir. 2002); Union Oil v. Leavell, 220 F.3d 562, 567-68 (7th Cir. 2000). The Plaintiff shall file a copy of R. 1-4 (the copyright registration) on the public docket by 03/21/2025. (2.) On review of the complaint and the TRO filings 6, 8, the Court raises the propriety of joinder of the Defendants. The Plaintiff shall review the opinion in Estee Lauder Cosmetics Ltd. v. Schedule A, 334 F.R.D. 182, 188-90 (N.D. Ill. 2020) (trademark case but the principles to copyright) and file a supplemental memorandum addressing the propriety of joinder by 03/24/2025. In lieu of the supplemental memorandum, by the same deadline, the Plaintiff may file an amended complaint with (a) one defendant or (b) a subset of the defendants along with a detailed memo explaining why joinder of those defendants is proper. (3.)
