Gottschall: In its memorandum of law 32 in support of its motion 31 for default judgment, plaintiff asserts "on information and belief" that this court has personal jurisdiction over defendant Yiwu Spring Gift Craft Co., Ltd. Plaintiff cites ¶¶ 3 and 19-33 of its amended complaint to support that assertion, but those paragraphs recite in a conclusory manner that this court has personal jurisdiction. Unlike the record in most other "Schedule A" cases in this district, the record here contains no screenshots of defendant's online store, and nothing in the record indicates that plaintiff placed a test purchase or caused an allegedly infringing product to be shipped to an Illinois address. The instant complaint and record do not support a prima facie case of personal jurisdiction for the reasons explained in Unicolors, Inc. v. Shewin Flagship Shops, 2024 WL 4567268, at *69 (N.D. Ill. Oct. 24, 2024) (Gottschall, J.). See also Roadget Bus. PTE. Ltd. v. Defs. Identified on Sched. A, 2024 WL 4333289, at *3 (N.D. Ill. Sept. 27, 2024). Accordingly, plaintiff's motion 31 for default judgment is denied without prejudice. Plaintiff may renew its motion for default judgment on or before 12/16/2024.
