MINUTE entry before the Honorable Steven C. Seeger: Plaintiff's motion for preliminary injunction (Dckt. No. [25]) is hereby granted. Preliminary Injunction Order to follow. Defendant Vidmid opposed the motion. (Dckt. No. [29]) Part of the objection has to do with the fact that Plaintiff's counsel originally said that the motion not cover Defendant Vidmid, but later, the motion did cover Defendant Vidmid. That inconsistency may be (understandably) frustrating, but it does not go to the merits of the motion. The other part of the objection has to do with personal jurisdiction. Defendant Vidmid admits that it sells goods in California, but argues that it does not sell goods in Illinois. At most (so the argument goes), it makes its goods available to consumers in Illinois through a website, and the record includes no evidence of an actual sale to consumers in Illinois. Defendant Vidmid argues that merely offering something for sale to residents in Illinois through a website is not enough to establish personal jurisdiction. That is true, as far as it goes. See Rubik's Brand, Ltd. v. P'Ships & Unincorporated Assocs. Identified on Schedule A, 2021 WL 825668, at *3 (N.D. Ill. 2021). But at this early stage, Plaintiff has made enough of a prima facie showing to establish personal jurisdiction. At least for now. See HAMANN GmbH v. P'Ships & Unincorporated Assocs. Identified on Schedule A, No. 21-cv-03591, slip op. at 12 (N.D. Ill. 2021), Dckt. No. 53. Limited jurisdictional discovery is warranted, so that Plaintiff can explore what products Vidmid has sold, where, and when. Id. at 2. The Court denies the motion to dismiss to the extent that it addresses personal service of process under the Hague Convention, because this Court already authorized service by email and by electronic publication. (Dckt. No. [14]) The Court directs Defendant Vidmid to cooperate in discovery. Mailed notice
